La Richardais at the rhythm of the tides

Situated on the banks of the Rance Estuary in Brittany, France, La Richardais is a charming destination that blends coastal beauty with cultural heritage. Just minutes from Dinard and Saint-Malo, this peaceful village offers stunning river views, scenic walking trails, and a rich maritime history.
Discover La Richardais
You don’t come to La Richardais by chance. Whether it’s for the Manoli Museum, a visit to the La Rance Dam (one of the largest tidal power plants in the world), or to pay tribute to the patron saint of sailors by visiting Saint-Clément Church, La Richardais will not leave you indifferent.
The nature here is omnipresent and can be easily tamed
From the pond of La Garde, for fishing enthusiasts, to the point of Grognet with its Manoli sculpture and stunning views of the estuary, allow yourself to wander through the streets of the village… You’ll discover, around a flowering garden, its typical marina and its crane from 1869, still operational, or even more wild, the cove of Grandes-Rivières. A family destination, it has everything you need to create wonderful moments. How about rowing? Gliding along the Rance to the rhythm of the oars… Whether nautical activities or not, they all focus on relaxation and well-being. The valley of La Rance greatly contributes to the charm of the area. It will be offered to you during a cruise, departing from La Richardais, of course!

The event

The Doris Festival
On the estuary of the Rance, the doris, these traditional wooden sailboats, sail from cove to cove, where many spectators and various activities await at each stop. La Richardais is the finishing point of this regatta and the start of a grand popular celebration. The Doris Festival is an opportunity to highlight this maritime heritage and the legacy of the Terre-Neuvas, the fishermen who ventured out to sea to fish off the coast of Canada.
