Le Minihic-sur-Rance is a preserved jewel which is just waiting to welcome you. Nestled on the banks of the River Rance, this former sailors’ village will draw you in with its roots, its history and its traditional captain’s houses.
On the road to Dinard, Saint-Buc Chapel, a 17th century building, is now home to works of art and cultural events — not forgetting a magnificent, restored dry hold outside the town, located in Landriais Bay and dating from 1908. Both the chapel and hold are listed as historic monuments.
But far from focussing on the past, Minihic-sur-Rance is anchored in the present.
With three shipyards and a dry port, it’s a perfect stopover if you’re a good sailor or enjoy the company of boats.
With a breath-taking view of Saint-Suliac, particularly from the Pointe du Crapaud headland, discover the peaceful River Rance and by taking a walk along the customs path.
Wooded, surrounded by hedged farmland but never far from the water, Minihic-sur-Rance perfectly encapsulates the gentle contrast of Brittany: the liveliness of the water next to the calm of the countryside.
Yet it would be rude to mention the village but not its festive events! Why not take your family to the Fête des Doris, with its flat-bottomed boats whose glory days were during the cod fisheries on the banks of Newfoundland. You won’t regret it.
