Swimming at Écluse Beach

The late afternoon sun invites relaxation and idleness on the beach. After a day of exploring Dinard, this is well deserved! Settle down at Écluse Beach, where the iconic blue and white tents line the shore. For the more adventurous, you can try a water sport. The Wishbone Club, near the seawater pool, offers catamaran, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and sea kayaking sessions.

One of the jewels of these evenings is undoubtedly the Clair de Lune Promenade, which, as night falls, lights up to become a stage for romance and relaxation.

If you have just one day to visit this charming coastal village, here is a perfect itinerary to uncover its hidden gems and breathtaking panoramas.

Put on your sneakers, it’s time for a hike! The Papillon Trail, spanning 7 km, takes you along the Pointe du Nick, a protected natural area that rises 40 meters above sea level and offers stunning views of the Emerald Coast. You’ll then pass through the Vallée de l’Amitié, a true green haven that is home to an old washhouse and a heritage orchard.

Taste Brittany’s cuisine at Pot de Beurre.

For lunch, indulge in Breton culinary specialties. We recommend the crêperie Le Pot de Beurre, which serves buckwheat galettes, crêpes, and mussels.


Heritage walk through the town

After lunch, we suggest a heritage walk through the town centre. After leaving the crêperie Le Pot de Beurre, you can visit the Old Church, dating back to the 11th century and now listed as a historic monument. A visitor booklet is available at the Saint-Lunaire Tourist Information Office. Continue along Rue de la Grève, stroll through the Presbytery garden, and admire the beautiful Odorico mosaics on the Post Office facade. Arriving at the Grande Plage, walk along the former hotels, including the imposing Grand Hôtel, and imagine yourself in the early 20th century. Finally, at the very end of the Pointe du Décollé, enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Emerald Coast.

A stroll through the alleys.

Upon arrival, let yourself be charmed by the small alleyways lined with traditional stone houses that tell the story of this fishing village. In the heart of the village centre of Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, a maze of narrow cobbled streets winds around the parish church. At the end of an alley, discover porches, sculpted facades, and hidden courtyards. The stone houses of the fishermen sit alongside the beautiful homes of the captains. Don’t miss a visit to the Saint-Briac church, which, with its charming seaside cemetery, adds a touch of poetry to the setting. For art lovers, a stop at one of the local galleries is a must.

It’s a great family activity to learn more about the natural heritage of the coastline: the fauna and flora, the diverse landscapes of dunes, beaches, and cliffs, and how to protect this environment. For the more adventurous: try a water sport! The Lancieux Nautical Club offers sailing, kitesurfing, kayaking, and sand yachting lessons.


Lunch with a view!

Kalypso celebrates local products and moments of conviviality, all in an idyllic setting on Saint-Sieu Beach. This restaurant offers a changing menu, written on a chalkboard, that adapts to the seasonal products available, ensuring homemade dishes of exceptional freshness. Guests can also enjoy a spectacular and unobstructed view of the beautiful Emerald Coast.

A bike ride

Ready for a visit to Lancieux on two wheels? Start at the Lancieux bridge and head towards Saint-Sieu Beach for a first salty stop. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Ebihens Archipelago. In the town center, the Vieux Clocher is the only remaining part of the old Romanesque church, and on the road leading to Beaussais-sur-Mer, you can visit the Moulin de Buglais, with guided tours regularly organized by the Tourist Office. Finally, you can reach Tertre Corlieu, a protected natural site—but this visit will be on foot, as bikes are not allowed!

Good to know: The municipal campsite of Les Mielles offers bike rentals (only during the season).

If you have a day to explore this beautiful region, a journey from Minihic-sur-Rance to La Richardais will immerse you in a captivating setting with spectacular views.

Hiking at Minihic-sur-Rance

In the morning, discover the charming village of Minihic-sur-Rance, once a fishing village. From the Town Hall, head towards the banks of the Rance River to pick up the GR34C hiking trail, a variant of the GR34. This walk offers beautiful panoramas of the opposite bank of the Rance, including the village of Saint-Suliac, one of the most beautiful villages in France. You’ll also pass the Landriais shipyard, one of the three remaining shipyards in the town… out of the dozens that existed in the 19th century. Visiting Minihic-sur-Rance with your family? The industrial heritage of La Richardais

For lunch, we recommend the crêperie L’Escale, where you can enjoy a meal with a view of the Rance! In the early afternoon, book your visit to the Rance Dam. This exceptional structure uses tidal power to generate electricity. Learn about its operation by joining a free guided tour. An outdoor circuit with explanatory panels is also available for self-guided visits.


The Montmarin Gardens and Cancaval Point

Then head towards the Malouinière of Montmarin, a key site of historical heritage along the Rance. Offering an exceptional view of the river, the Malouinière opens its gardens to visitors. In the midst of these “Remarkable Gardens,” you can also step back in time to an era when the estate had its own shipyard. The Pavilion, recently restored, is the last remaining relic of that time.

For hiking enthusiasts, start from the Malouinière and embark on the Pointe de Cancaval walk. This rocky point extends into the Rance and offers landscapes with a Mediterranean feel. A great off-the-beaten-path hiking idea!
