Castelbrac, soul heaven
Castelbrac was built on a cliffside as close to the sea.
“La Villa Bric à Brac”, which became the Castelbrac Hotel in 2015, reveals an exceptional history. Built by the English Faber family who founded Dinard, the villa has seen succession for 130 years, starting with an English colonel, a hero of the Crimean War - Robert William Hamilton. Then came the cream-of-the crop of the French National Scientific Research Museum of Natural History - Commander Jean-Baptiste Charcot. The pride of the founders of this seaside resort and marine station, the great history came through the gates of Castelbrac. More than a hotel, it is a place of memory and renewal.
From the Superior Room to the Prestige Terrace Suite, all our rooms open into the sea and offer the same comfort and top-of-the-range equipment. Most of them have a private terrace, some are also available for people with reduced mobility. Others rooms have a private corridor, which allows to communicate between the different rooms, which is perfect for families.
On the taste buds side, Chef Julien Hennote welcomes you to the Pourquoi Pas restaurant with a panoramic view of the Bay of Saint-Malo, with an inventive and local cuisine, distinguished from a Michelin star and two Gault & Millau toques. Discover an authentic seasonal cuisine, focused on the Emerald Coast and its local resources. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.
The Aquarium Bar, built within the aquarium, offers an extensive cocktail and wine menu, along with delicious appetisers for a relaxing moment with family or a friendly aperitif with friends. You can enjoy the homemade cocktails prepared by the chef barman.
Let yourself be transported back in time in the Salon Charcot, the former office of Commander Charcot, a renowned polar explorer. Enjoy Tea Time with a selection of Lindfield's finest teas in a warm and cosy atmosphere.
Castelbrac has its own private launch to discover the Emerald Coast and the islands. From April to October, Le Fou de Bassan offers the possibility of breakfast at sunrise, picnic on the beaches of the surrounding islands, a cocktail at sunset or tailor-made cruises.
