La Maison du Pêcheur : Parcours découverte
The Village Rivages association aims to "promote the cultural and maritime heritage of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer". To this end, it runs the Maison du Pêcheur, the home of one of the last professional fishermen, which has been transformed into an information centre on the village's maritime past.
The Village Rivages association aims to "promote the cultural and maritime heritage of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer".
To do this, it runs the Maison du Pêcheur, the home of one of the last professional fishermen, which has been transformed into an information centre on the village's maritime past. This information, presented in the form of chronological and explanatory panels, as well as through various media (oral documents and films from the period, etc.), evokes the economic and sociological history of the inhabitants of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer, who have always been closely linked to the sea.
The association is also offering a heritage trail in the form of 7 interactive terminals throughout the village, with information that can be loaded by QR Code. Volunteers from the association also accompany groups on tours of the village's emblematic sites. The association also organises a variety of events, either on its own or in conjunction with cultural, environmental and educational associations, both inside the Maison du Pêcheur (e.g. exhibitions) and at its various sites (exhibitions, conferences, various events, etc.).
These various activities are presented on the Village Rivages website and also on the website of the Abbey of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer, a partner for various off-site activities.
