La pointe du Nick
Founded in the 6th Century by Saint Lunaire, this agricultural market town became a fashionable seaside resort at the end of the last century, immortalised by the painter Henri Rivière. Facing Saint Lunaire, between Grand Beach and Fourberie Beach, the Coastal Space and Lakeside Shore Conservatory has acquired Nick Point, thus preserving it from unauthorised urban development. The sparse wind-blown vegetation of the cliffs is composed of short scrubs and ferns. Joint management with the Conservatory means that the region is able to offer a dozen hectares of beautiful walks in this area, like an open window onto the sea. Also worth visiting is the Pointe du Décollé or detached headland.
