Description
For over 130 years, it has drawn its inspiration from its origins in the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Its reputation has been built on a cult item of clothing, "the true sailor jumper knitted in pure virgin wool", originally intended for fishermen, but later adopted by sailors, yachtsmen and tourists.
Its pure wool, pure cotton 'seaside' collections now appeal to a wide range of customers, not only on the French coast, but also in the country's major cities. Through its Norman know-how, TRICOTS SAINT JAMES is perpetuating the tradition of seafaring fashion, internationally too.
With its rare knitting expertise, SAINT JAMES has naturally been awarded the French state label "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company).
The French state label recognising the excellence of exceptional know-how
The "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" EPV label is a government recognition mark, set up to distinguish French companies and their outstanding industrial and craft skills.
