Brittany’s Emerald Coast by bike!

Discover Northern Brittany’s Emerald Coast by bike! Prepare for your two-wheeled adventures in this article.
The good reasons for a biking trip!
The true wealth of travel: the encounters.
An eco-friendly journey thanks to soft mobility.
An economical trip: a slow mode of transport but a budget that depletes more slowly.
A feeling of freedom, with numerous visiting opportunities.
The major routes
From Roscoff to Dunkirk, from Dinard to Arzal and to the Rhuys peninsula in Morbihan, the territory of the Emerald Coast is rich in its two cycling routes. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a casual walker, everyone can find something to enjoy on the bike routes.

EuroVelo 4 – La Vélomaritime®
1,500 km by bike from the English Channel to the North Sea
From Roscoff in Brittany to Dunkirk at the Belgian border, this cycling route passes through iconic sites such as the Pink Granite Coast, Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay, the D-Day beaches, the cliffs of Étretat, the Bay of Somme, and the Opal Coast. With a significant portion of shared paths, it’s an ideal route for cyclists seeking escape, challenge, and cultural and gastronomic discovery.
The route crosses the municipalities of Beaussais-sur-Mer and Tréméreuc on the section from Matignon to Pleslin Trigavou.
A variant of the route then suggests taking the greenway near Tréméreuc to reach Dinard and then crossing by boat to Saint-Malo.

The Greenway – V42
From Saint-Malo, the V2 and V3 Bretagne follow the same route to the lock of Mottay in Évran, a few kilometers past Dinan along the Ille-et-Rance canal, then separate to head to Rhuys in 212 km or Arzal in 131 km.
Starting from Dinard, on rue de la Corbinais, the greenway follows the old railway line that once connected Dinard to Dinan.
The path is primarily flat, sheltered by the many trees that line it. It is a route shared only with soft modes of transport, allowing you to ride safely. Covered with a sand surface, the trail is passable all year round.
You will reach Pleurtuit in 7 km, Tréméreuc in 9 km, and Dinan via the towpath along the Rance in 22 km.
