La Pointe du Décollé
The seaside resort of Saint-Lunaire is an ideal blend of land and sea, nature and water sports, countryside and beach. At its heart is the famous Pointe du Décollé headland, which we invite you to discover.
The legend of Saint-Lunaire
In the year 535, a Welsh monk called Leonor, the future Saint Lunar, landed on the Pointe du Décollé promontory, where a commemorative cross stands. It is said that in order to get there, he cut through the thick fog with his sword. Today, the recumbent statue of Saint Lunaire can be seen inside the Old Church, located in the town centre.
The villas of Saint-Lunaire
Admire the seaside villas that adorn the Pointe du Décollé headland, each more majestic than the last. Observe the eclectic style of the villas, from the 19th century seaside resort to the neo-Breton designs of the 1920s.
A breath-taking view
When you arrive at the headland, take the path on the left and walk to the cross. The view is like a gift: you have the privateer town of Saint-Malo on the starboard side, the Cap Fréhel peninsula on the port side, and the Grande Plage beach behind you, adorned with its Grand Hôtel, today transformed into a private residence.
The rocky coastline is steep, shaped by the sea since time immemorial, and unveils its treasures to the rhythm of the tides. When the water is high, the tip of the headland seems detach itself from the land.
For a lunch break or an afternoon snack, make yourself comfortable on the terrace of the crêperie L’Amirauté and enjoy the view over a good crêpe!
