A natural spot away from the hustle and bustle

Looking for quieter footpaths? Head for the Pointe de Cancaval headland, in the commune of Pleurtuit. Following the GR34C coastal path from the quiet hamlet of Cancaval, you can admire the beautiful views of the Rance estuary in complete peace.

This rocky outcrop is entirely wooded and bordered by little coves that make you want to dive in. The maritime pines reflected in the turquoise water give it a Mediterranean feel. A change of scenery guaranteed!

A seafaring tradition

Its protruding position on the River Rance has made it a natural point of defence to protect the ports located upstream. The Rance, one of the largest estuaries in Brittany, is an exceptional place where salt and fresh water mix. The Pointe de Cancaval promontory, just like the other communes on the banks of the Rance, has a deeply rooted maritime tradition, as evidenced by the old shipyards of Domaine de la Malouinière du Montmarin.
